You're saying that I *may* be within my normal advance range (37 BTC not 27 BTC) but cannot tell because there are no tick marks past 30 btc?

Fair enough. I'll just take one of my spare pulleys and mark a few extra 10 degree marks with a triangular file.

The question remains, if I am losing all relationship to my timing marks when reving the motor - does that indicate a problem with my advance mechanism?

You find that a sharpie is visible to the timing light? I've been using a piece of chalk...
