Trunk button 700

Hi all,

I have a 1988 Volvo 740 GLE. Someone tried to break into the trunk and ruined that button thing you use to open it.

The junkyard has a good one, but when I went to remove it I couldn't figure out how it comes off. It looks like the button assembly is held on by a metal "frame" on the back. I pried at it with a screwdriver but had no luck.

Has someone replaced their trunk button before? I'm stumped and I'd like to get into my trunk.

John
