engine oil cunsumption... 140-160 1974

10/30 is much too thin unless the temperatures are averaging around the freeze mark. Synth oil is good oil but better with close tolerance engines. B18/20 wasn't a close tolerance engine by modern standards, even when new. Sounds as if Dino 20/50 would be more suitable and cheaper too. Bores may have become glazed but that might improve with Dino. Maybe an Italian tune up or three might help!
A compression test would be useful and make sure all of the breathing system is clean and fitted correctly.
