Low idle when in park or drive -- 94 940 900

The adjustment screw on the throttle body and the adjustable arm on the throttle linkage are only meant to adjust for proper operation of the butterfly plate inside the TB. i.e., fully closed at no throttle, almost fully open at full throttle and smooth operation between. With that being said, it is possible to change the idle speed by changing the adjustment of these and I have done it as a temporary solution until I had time to find the real problem.
Like another poster said, the idle air control valve is highly suspect and should be cleaned and checked for proper operation. Another possible culprit could be your throttle position switch. It's basic function is to act as an on/off switch for the IAC and improper adjustment will cause idle problems.
Both of these items are covered fairly well in the FAQ section.
Good luck and if you run into something thats not covered in the FAQ I'm confident that someone here can help you.
