MPG on 122s? 120-130

OK,Lets go back to 1963 when your (OLD) mechanic was 25 years old. Lets say he had a 122 or 544. First of all when I was 25 I could care less about gas mileage, never checked it. At 0.35 cents a gallon Candy bars were more expensive. In California I remember the speed limit to be 55. They did give tickets for exceeding 55.My 9 gallon tank on my 444 would last me a week. Fast forward to 2008.You have to go 65-70 mph here in new Jersey not to get rear ended. Our little 1800 cc engines dont like that speed unless youve got O/D.So Goodby good gas mileage. 25 at best. Maybe lower. Our early Volvo engines loved 2500-3000 RPM. Try and keep them at that rpm today,With A Bad A## SUV up your A##. Forget gas mileage,Pay the price and enjoy your Volvo. Im a 67 year old (OLD) mechanic. When we get old we forget a lot except the Joy of Driving a Volvo

Regards
John--67/210-69/122
