MPG on 122s? 120-130

The 122 was rated for 25 mpg in the mid 1960's. With an overdrive, 30 mpg or slightly better is definitely possible. But 40 mpg? Somebody is dreaming.

Also, keep in mind that most people did not drive 75-80 mph on their daily commute in the 60's. Without an overdrive, your engine is turning 4500 rpm at 80 mph and gas mileage will be horrible.
