1987 740 No Start - Ignition Module? 700

This weekend Shannon (sdewolfe) and I were trying to revive a 740 that would not start. After a few tries, we got the engine to run - and then it would abruptly die after a few minutes. Assuming that it had to do with a faulty ignition switch, I swapped a known good unit out of an 89 740 this morning..... it still won't fire.

It does not seem to be getting spark - odd since it was running this weekend. I checked the plugs first and then the coil wire - nothing.

I also pulled the ignition control module after reading this post

That sounds like it could be my problem. The 740 that I am pulling parts from is a 89 or 90 , and does not have the ignition module located in the same spot.

Any suggestions to get the brick back on the road? Its an art car, and I want to enter it into the Houston Art Car parade... if I can be confident it will make it through.

Thanks,

Tyler
