Insane Vibration When Braking @ All Speeds... 900 1996

Hello Fellow Volvo Fans:

I have a 1996 960 that in the last 2 weeks I have dropped $3450 in repairs, the car had been sitting 8 months after tossing the timing belt and killing the engine. Anyways, a problem that I had just before the timing belt issue now needs to be dealt with. Brake booster went out about a year ago, fixed that, still had a vibration that would shake the life out of you. Steering wheel violently shakes, about 2-3 inches in either direction any time the brakes are applied at any speed, and the shaking gets worse, almost shaking you out of your seat the slower you get and the harder you apply the brakes, such as downhill stopping or stop sign / stop light stopping. Replaced RR rotor that had been eaten up from little or no pads just before timing belt went out and replaced all pads, but didnt turn rotors or bleed the system. It feels like I am trying to stop on ice and just keep going when I hit the brakes, even though there are pads with less than 2000 miles on them. I feel like I have to stand up on the petal to get it to stop. I am at a loss and about to pull my hair out here, I love this car but starting to think it's a money pit. I am going to replace the rotors and pads, maybe with slotted rotors & Hawk Pads for better than OEM braking. Is this all I need to do, what else do I need to consider doing or buying when doing this?

Thanks for the help,

Timothy-
