Thermostat 200 1983

My thermostat seems to fluctuate while driving-especially now that spring temperatures are rising. It will vary based on the movement of the car; idling in traffic temp gage will go a fraction over 9 o'clock, then move down to 8-thermostat working normally?. I have pored over the Archives, and some say that the temp gage should never fluctuate, others seem to tolerate a little movement.

Bad thermostat? One that is of wrong temp? I replaced it 3 months ago with 82 degree Wahler.
