Leaky Windshield On '87 240 Sedan - Help Please .... 200 1987

1987 240 sedan. After it rains there is a little puddle in passenger side foot area. Leak is coming from under windshield glass lower corner. From side of and around and under corner. Guess seal has gone bad. I tried caulking on both inside and outside of glass. Did not work. I used GE silicone caulking meant for windows & doors which I got from Home Depot. Is there a certain better caulk I should use ? Or maybe something else I should use ? Hot glue gun ? Please help. Thanks very much.
