AMM Swapping 200 1989

The '87 740 AMM should be swappable as long as it's Bosch # is 007 (last 3 digits).

Do some searching here on the Air Box Thermostat for info on bypassing it. It is known to fail in the "hot" position, which is said to cook the AMM.

The consensus is that (when working) it offers only a slight reduction in emissions during the first few minutes of cold driving. It has no effect on cold starts or warm up time.

Bottom line is you'll have to buy one to get the AMM guarantee. Make it into a tie clip or a pendant for a lady wrench.
