FUEL PUMP PROBLEMS? 700 1985

I had a similar problem on my 1990 740. It turned out to be the coil. It has the Rex-regina system. When it quits again and you turn the key over look at the RPM gauge if the gauge needle jumps up and down while you are trying to start then the problem is fuel. If the needle is dead and doesn't move then the problem is spark (hence could be the coil). Post back and let us know if you repaired the problem. Good luck!
