Tachometer Hookup for Portable Use? 200

I have an extra cluster with a tachometer in it. I want to use the tachometer as a portable to hook up under the hood so I can watch the rpm's while I'm working on the engine. Can someone advise me how to hook up the tach that is still in the instrument cluster for this purpose?
