Very Early style external tachometer wiring help anyone???

Hello,

A lot of early Smiths tachometers use an "inline" tachometer sensing system where the signal from the distributor points goes through the tachometer before going to the coil.

So if both of your "extra" wires are white, connect one end to the distributor at the condensor and the other end to the "-" post on the coil. If the tachometer does not work, try reversing the white wires.
