More scary stuff... the TB 700 1987

Hi folks,

I finally removed my throttle body to clean it. Ack!! I think there was 21 years of gunk in there. And the thing smells like burnt cigarette butts in gasoline. Bad stuff.

I got the wrong cleaner (bonehead Autozone!) for the TB, so I just took it to my bench and scrubbed it out with shop towels and a toothbrush, which has worked pretty well. Some of the coking has yet to come off, but it's still on my bench and I'll keep working on it until it looks like the one in the pic in the FAQ.

D'oh! I took the TB off AFTER I realized I had the wrong cleaner, so I couldn't go back out. Oh well, I bought 2 TB gaskets from FCP anyway, I'll just clean it again in a few days and call it macaroni.

Ari
