Trunk Leaks 700

89 740 sedan
I took a Brickster's advice and drilled a 5/64ths hole in the bottom of the brake light lens
To let the annoying water out of the cracked and leaking lens assembly. It works.

Some water has leaked into the trunk, I found the thin metal lip that supports the trunk gasket
was bent a little in a few places, and straightened it, but it looks like the gasket might not be
making a good contact with the trunk lid by the rear window. Is there a fix for that gasket seal?
Maybe it can be shimmed up with something like pipe cleaners to make a better contact?

Bill
