945T Fuel hose? 900 1991

The line from my fuel filter to the fuel injector is worn and leaking--spraying, really--near the back end. This is when the key is on "run"; the fuel pump is running.

There is a stretch near the back end of this line where the 1/2" black rubber outer hose is gone, but the inner hose (black, hard plastic or steel) looks OK.

I called two places and each says this is just one item, complete (no individual inner or outer hose). A dealer nearby wants $75, the well-spoken-of Borton's.com wants $93. I ran thru the FAQ, plus did some searches. It seems like this one is the same issue: http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=1070783&show_all=1. But that user got one for $25.

Before I order a DIY part, unseen and unreturnable:

1) Does spraying fuel mean the inner hose is leaking also?

2) Is this ordinary fuel hose or something special/proprietary? Is it a common part or a special order? Clearing the dirt off the line removes whatever marking is there.

Seems like I'm missing something very obvious, or my situation isn't the same. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx,
