Strange brake noise??? 200

Good morning fellow Bricksters. Yesterday morning, I noticed a sort of high pitch noise (not squeal) at low speed (15-20 mpg) and thought it might be the radio...not the radio. It seemed like the brakes were making a grinding noise when I applied them and rubbed when driving. So I pick up some new pads (4 wheel discs) and take the wheels off. The brake pads are almost new. I have no other indication that it can be anything else. The noise changes when the brakes are applied. The car brakes normally, the emergency brake works normally...should I be concerned? I suspect brake dust??? I plan to pull the wheels back off, spray air from the compressor and maybe even a few shots of brake cleaner. Anything else you can think of?
