ARP Rod Bolt Issues... 120-130

Hey Guys,

I've finally got all my parts in from VPD and can get the B20 put together. I was going to get the internals ballanced today and when I checked the fancy rod bolts that I got from John Parker, they are a different design than what I have. I've got late (1975 B20) internals - so an 8-bolt crank and B21 style rods. The bolts that John sells are for the earlier (and much more common B20) - not VPD's fault at all, I didn't look for a difference before ordering the ARP rod bolts.

My rod bolts are in pretty bad shape and have been beat on and will need to be changed. The rods themselves are fine and will be reconditioned before use (checked for straight and honed to size). So my question is can I use the older style B20 ARP rod bolts (which I think are the same as the bolts used on a 351 Cleveland) on the later rods. The only difference I can see is that the heads of the bolts are a different style. Has anyone ever used a set of rod bolts from an early B20 in a later style rod? Does anyone know the ARP part number (they don't list any Volvo applications as usual) for the later B20/B21 rods?

Thanks,
Craig
