It's summer... time to fix my AC system! 700 1987

Hi folks,

From all the great help here, I was able to fix my power windows... and now they all work! Yay!

But now that I have ventilation, I can begin to work on a bigger problem... my AC. I replaced my condenser fan, and now I want to share my AC symptoms:

I turn on the AC. The compressor catches for half a second, then releases. As far as I know, it's been a LONG time since the AC was recharged, and perhaps 8 or 12 months since anyone's tried to use it. It's retrofitted to R134.

This makes me think it just needs recharging. Thoughts, guys? Is this a job I can do myself?

Thanks!

Ari
