Still fighting a hard, old decal-like, sun-baked-on packaging tape residue from PO taping broken lenses on a few corners my 245. No solvents work. Nothing. Zippo.

Question: what's the base used on the clearcoat and base on the paint used on a 1989 245?

Thinking about trying this 3M product:

and it says it will not damage acrylic enamel or urethane. Whaddya think?
