Center support bearing 700 1987

Based on what I've heard from y'all and what I've read, I think my center support bearing is the source of some driveline noise and vibration.

I think I'd like to try lubing it first. What oil do you folks recommend? Just generic hi-pressure grease-gun grease? Do I need to lift the rear to be able to spin the shaft like the FAQ advises?

Just another thing that confused me about my driveline vibes... I had to kick down to 3rd to pass a slow car on the highway. My vibes vanished, I revved smoothly to 3500, then I let off and the tranny shifted into 4th... then 30 seconds or so, and my vibes were back. Like always, a light foot would keep the vibrations away.

Bizarre.

Ari
