62 544 rear- end problems. 444-544

Last week I started getting problems when the car was warmed up, with the rear brakes locking up when stopping, or causing violent shuddering when reversing. My local mechanic (worked on 544's 25 years ago) found Diff. oil and a leaking Wheel cyl, bad Rubber bushings and a clogged Brake Hose.
A complete set of Bushings and Stops, Brake linings, Cylinders, and Brake Hose were installed and Brake Drums were turned.
I still have the severe shuddering when reversing, after driving for 15 minutes or so. It feels like the axle is hopping up and down, and the whole drivetrain shakes violently. I recently changed the Gearbox Mount, and thought I might have a broken Motor Mount and have ordered replacements, but I took them out to check and they seem OK.
Has anyone experienced anything like this? Any advice would be welcome.
Pete.
