960 Radio not working - sounds like static - how to fix with thin cardboard 900 1993

The radio in my 1993 960 Wagon would only play static, first I though it was the antenna but changing antennas didn't help. When I had pulled the radio out of the dash (easiest to pull ever BTW with the two ears that pop out) I wacked the radio from each side just for the hell of it and it started working...for a bit, but as soon as I went on a drive it would stop.

Took out the radio again, removed the cover. It appears a daughter circuit board on the right hand side would somehow short out against the right side of the radio case, mainly in the rear section of the radio where there are metal components on the daughter card.

I grabbed a piece of thin cardboard, pulled the daughter card to the left and jammed in the cardboard to prevent it from shorting. Radio is all happy once again.

(if you look closely at the photo you will see the "Kl" from the kleenex box I used!)
