Fuel and Temperature Gauges Work Erratically 700 1986

740 GLE non-turbo with 200k miles. I just bought it and have no history. The gas gauge, though I filled up gas tank, usually reads empty. Sometimes it works, but only after the car has warmed up. The temperature gauge rarely works, but I know that the car has warmed up (engine is hot and upper radiator hose is hot). Thanks in advance.
