Tires and drivetrain (I am SpazMan, not pageda) 700 1987

Hi guys,

At some point (a long while ago, maybe when the AW70L was swapped in), the PO of my 740GLE replaced the rims with 15" TRW 5-spoke aluminum rims. They look snazzy.

The speedometer seems properly adjusted (except for a jitter below 15mph - I figure this is electrical).

I understand that this car shipped with smaller wire-spoke rims. What potential issues/side effects might come from larger rims? The larger (195/70 r15) tires grip the road nicely, but that might be the reason my mileage is still on the low side.

Any transmission/drivetrain stress issues?

Thanks,

Ari
