The trials of an A/C conversion 700

So I've finally collected most of the parts I'll need for my A/C overhaul. I've replaced the A/C muffler (that stupid canister that serves no purpose) with the Groton retrofit pipe. New blower motor and resister. Next I'll swap in my new condensor. I'd like to retain my original evaporator and compressor because they appear in decent shape.

Can someone tell me the name of the small diameter line that runs between the condensor and evaporator. Its the one that's bolted to the frame. Mine looks pretty rotten and I might as well replace that too, but can't locate one at FCP.

Also is it necessary to evacuate every drop of old oil from the system before replacing with esther oil.
