pre-emptively replacing problem switches or relays? 900 1993

subject: 1993 965 with 233k miles

Does this sound like crazy talk or is it something others here have done/attempted? There is no "sign" or warning (exc for very high mileage) that anything is about to fail, but having just been stranded once from something that turned out to be a faulty older alarm system (relay), I'm in no mood for another expensive "out of area" service bill. Hence the pre-emptive talk.

I'm at the mercy of my narrow driveway but I'm reasonably well versed in backyard mechanics. what would you replace and in what order (easy/inexpensive starting the list!) what do others think?

thanks.
