B20F rebuild

Hi,

I have a 1974 b20f engine that I am tearing down and rebuilding. I am putting this in a 1967 122s wagon. I have a 4 in 1 header and 2" sport exhaust as well as a 4:10 rear end and a jtype tranny. The engine will have hs6 carbs as well. I want to make this my daily driver, so I do not want a racing engine, but rather I am looking for a boost in horespower and some performance. What is a good place to get parts and what should I use. There are so many combinations and Iam a bit confused. I do want a smooth idle and I want to be able to hit the pedal and have responsiveness. Any help would be great!

Thanks,

Graham
