Aftermarket Speakers Install 200 1989

I installed some after-market Infinity's (4")and the interior door panel is recessed preventing a flat fit for the new speaker grilles. The protruding tweeters prevent me from using oem grilles and I'm wondering if anyone has ever came across this issue. I'm thinking of a good way to cut/reform int door panel to contour with new(larger)grilles without making it look lame. Anyone?
Also- has anyone ever thought about installing shallow subs in the wagon hatch floor storage area thing?
Hopefully this doesn't offend those original-everything people---I don't use cassettes-sorry.
Thanks!
