Rope trick! 700 1987

Hi folks,

Depending on how much trouble I end up on my way to the auto parts store, I may need to do the rope trick, rather than wait for the pulley tool. We'll see how bad my HB is slipping (I scrolled a mark on it to see...).

I have a couple questions about it. First: Do I dip the rope in motor oil?

Next: Is this OK to do to an '87 B230 (with the low friction design)?

I think I'll make a day of it and do the TB, pump, HB, and belts....

Ari
