Okay, here's the deal. For those of you who are new to this situation please refer to my previous thread entitled "Coil question for my diesel to gas conversion" or something like that because I'm sure I'll probably inadvertantly leave something out. Let's start at the beginning. I have been involved in a project for a few years now converting an '82 245 from a diesel car to a gas car. Pretty much everything that is a normal wear item has been replaced or rebuilt except for the fuel pumps and the brake system. I have also installed an upgraded engine wiring harness. The donor car was an '83 with a B23F/M46 engine/trans. combination. Also in this transformation I have installed the donor cars' wiring harness from the fusebox out to the engine compartment where it connects to the engine harness via the big fat gray connector because this seemed like the easiest thing to do versus trying to figure out the differences in the harnesses and then make it right. I have done my best to get everything hooked up right but I won't be surprised if something isn't right due to depth of this project. I am at the point where I have the car where the engine starter will crank the engine but will not start. I've started my troubleshooting using the Bentley manual on pages 280-8 and 280-9 to check the ignition system. Everything checks good according to the book except that I cannot get any spark. I have(heavily)relied on the BB and everyones' help has been great, especially Lucid and Goatman. Everything I have tried from there has been information I've received here so I'm just going to tell you all everything I've done and tried so far to this point. As I said, I have tried everything according to the Bentley but to no avail. I also verified that I do have 12V to the coil. I have tried using the jumper wire as per fig. 15 and have tried this both in the run position and while cranking. I also tried doing this while intermittently connecting and disconnecting the jumper while the engine was cranking. Still no spark. I have thoroughly checked all of my connections and have tried 3 different ICU boxes 2 of which I know came from running cars. Does anyone here know what I'm doing wrong or know what I need to do as I'm getting ready to send this thing to the scrap yard! I've got more hours in this thing than I can forget! Sorry for the long post. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Charles
