Can't recommend the Weber DGV but if the car came with 2 HS6 carbs it is B18B and
if it came with only one, it is a B18A. Very few (probably none) with B18A engines
were sold new in the US.
Set the ignition to wherever it runs best!
Retarded is bad - reduces power and makes the engine and especially the exhaust
system run hot.
