544 badging and other small differences 444-544

Well I ended up cutting a deal on a number of Volvos recently. An old guy wanted a barn and field cleared out. Among the 8 cars were three 544's and one 444.

I am still hauling them home and sorting them out but several things I have noticed so far that I have questions on...

The 544's are all b16 cars titled as '61. They have different things on the sides of the hoods (plus the pile of spare hoods) I have tridents, 'SPORT' and nothing. What years got what badges? I also see the several of the inst. clusters are different. I have ones with 'PV 544' where the trip odometer is normally. Was there time when they started doning one from the other? Also should all 544 have seat belts? Or was this an option? Any place other than the alumn. plate where the VIN/serial number is?
