Broke the little white tube in the dash 200 1983

I was working on replacing my radio last night and when I pulled the dash apart I heard a little Hiss. No problem I thought, It was just the vacuum system closing one of the vents or something.

No such luck, It looks like I snapped the little white tube that goes from the AC switch off into the dash.

My AC hasnt worked in years, I was however about to charge it to see if I could make it work.

Will the refrigerant leak out into the cabin via this little tube?

Do I absolutely need the tube?

The other end goes into part of the heater box related apparatus and is covered in what looks like black tar.

Is it possible to buy a new one online?

Can I pull one off a car in the junkyard?
