Deisel conversion? 140-160

Looks like the best candidate is a 1.9 turbo diesel VW, using a Toyota transmission. I haven't pursued it much yet as I haven't found a turbodiesel at a price I can tolerate, yet. I won't buy a junker, just to ge it done. I want one for many, many, miles on the road!

It looks like several configurations of turbo, one of which mounting higher on the engine that the others. My guess that is the one to use.
