Intermittent Stalling, No Restart 120-130 1968

Hi.

In my humble experience, usually points replacements(electronic) fails on some months (in my case, it happened twice, one with a magnetic unit and another with a optical one, I believe Bosch distributors are too small for good internal cooling).

By now, I use the best of both worlds: points (within the distributor) plus a external ignition unit MSD5 (between the distributor and coil).

The MSD5 unit takes care of the ignition dwell angle, leaving the points on charge of timing the tempo (also, the points no longer suffer from high electrical current, so I lasts four times more).

As a plus, in case of failure, you can wire the distributor directly to the coil, limping to home.
