M46 unknown wires, disconnected and dangling 200 1985

I've been fighting with an unruly OD, and during my adventures underneath the tranny, I've noticed a pair of wires that are simply dangling from the top, rear, driver's side of my 1985 M46.

My Haynes manual only mentions the reverse backup light switch, but that's supposed to be on the top passenger's side, closer to the front. I don't know what else it could be, but I'd prefer if they were plugged into something.

I could just barely see that these are two wires with plastic plugs on the top, both encased in a single plastic casing, but both cut/burned/whatever at the bottom, and the bare wires are exposed, hanging just rear of the OD solenoid.

Anyone know what I'm looking at?

Thanks,

Josh
