The sheetmetal parts (as well as headlights) from the 1991 and newer 740's will bolt right up.

The hood, grill, headlight trim and the grill support is different on the 1990 740. If you have a donor car that can supply all of those parts you can swap them all out, but you can not mix them.

The front fenders on the 1990 740's are the same as later years as well as your 940.

Things are a bit different if your 940 has fog lights in the grill beside the headlights.
