Thanks very much for the replies! I found that using no lubricant and doing the "swirl" method of grasping and pulling the rubber "tits" was far easier than I had anticipated! I installed the driver's side very quickly with satifying 'snaps' when they went home - I don't think the other one will be a problem once I start on it tomorrow.
