Yeah, 240 safety is amazing. Two years ago, in high school, I was driving to school to turn in a paper on a snowy morning. At the time I had a 1988 244. Halfway there, I heard that school was closed. I had to get rid of the paper regardless, so I kept going. I was stupidly doing about 55 in a 45, which is a high speed limit for the road even when it's dry. I wanted to get there quick so I could get home and go back to sleep. There was about half an inch of snow on the road. I was getting closer and ended up losing control on a slight curve in the road. I slammed on the brakes (bad move) the rear went to the left, but I kept going forward, landing nose-first into a ditch. I figure I went perhaps 30 feet between losing control and hitting the ditch, so I was probably going about 45+ when I went in. Suffice it to say, the ditch stopped me very quickly. Injuries: absolutely none. The CD playing didn't even skip. Damages to the 240: broke one of the headlight adjusting screw ball-joints when I took out a speed limit sign on the way in. Some helpful guy in a jeep pulled me out and I was able to get the paper turned in on time.
If I needed yet another reason the drive a 240, this was it.
