SU Carb - Piston Lifting Pin 120-130 1965

While doing some maintenance yesterday, I discovered that the piston lifting pin on my SU HS6 carbs (part #5 in my Haynes manual, Fig. 3.13, pg. 53) is missing. (Not the first time I've discovered missing parts on this car!)

Two questions for you SU gurus out there:

1. is this screwing up my 122's performance? is air leaking in and messing up the air-fuel mixture, diaphragm position, etc? Interestingly, the car actually seems to be running fine right now.

2. I wanted to make some replacements, and I was wondering if anyone would be willing to send me the measurements of a proper pin? (length and diameter of each portion)

Thanks a lot!
