Nah .. you're definitely not a nut .. finding a reliable, safe, and easy to work on vehicle can sometimes be daunting .. but keeping your kids safe seems to be the driving point here. ( no pun intended ). :)

I have five of the rolling irons myself and when the kids get to asking for a vehicle .. it will definitely not be a Toyota or a Honda .. gas may be expensive but safety comes first.... (Not to trash the Japanese vehicle makers ...I just don't feel safe in them over 45mph ... even the full sized trucks.)
