N/A 745 exhaust downpipe hanger - what is it supposed to look like? 700 1990

My wagon has had the downpipe replaced by the previous owner's mechanic. That "fine gentleman" used a big hose clamp to attach it to a flat bracket with a squarish hole protruding from the bellhousing area.

I am assuming this isn't how it is supposed to work. The downpipe has a plate with a threaded hole welded to it, so I am assuming something bolts on there. What is that something and how does it mate with the bracket on the bellhousing? There has got to be a rubber piece there somewhere.

A picture would be awesome. There probably is one in the gallery, but I don't see a way to search it...
