oil leak behind brake pedal?? 200 1989

Hi All,

Today I discovered a good sized oil spot in the carpet behind the brake pedal. It was damp and the carpet was soaked through. Since its been about three years since I'd had the mats out and vacuumed, I have no idea how long it's been there. Any ideas of its source? The car doesn't have a history of needing to have any of the fluids topped off.
