Can wheels be switched from 740 to 940? 900

I am going to sell my old 1987 740, which happens to have new tires. Can I take the alloy wheels from the 740 along with the new tires and put them on the 1995 940? Can the 940 steel wheels and poor tires go to the 740? (The wheel diameters are different so I cannot just switch tires.) I can get more info and pictures if needed.
