Just picked up a set of H1 and H4 lights at the pick a part 200

I would like to install these on my 1984.5 245ti. I pulled the lights and the wireing adopters that came with them. I'm wondering if there is anything else I should do to the car before I install these lights. Wireing upgrads etc etc. I'm not sure If I will install the brights as I know someione with a 740 who kept blowing his relay with the brights. So, any other recomendations? Thanks.
