1989 240 running rich,erratic and werid 200 1989

I have an 89 240dl ,started running extremely rich after I decided to put it back on the road, stopped driving it after the Mechanic that replaced the rear maim oil seal decided to "power flush my tranny and it stopped shifting into high gear, a fluid drain and replacement with Mobil 1 syntheic trans fluid fixed it. any how after it began running rich milage dropped to 12mpg. changed the pressure regulator, and plug wires, then the fuel pump shut off would run if I used a jumper on the relay. A friend gave me his ECU off his wrecked 92 940 it is a Bendix unit it looks different from the pink label bosch 561 unit but the plug matches up,i.e. same pin pattern ,car now starts and runs idle is some what erratic if I unplug the AMM it dies I have a used but verified AMM unit on the way and I replaced the O2 sensor. Is the ECU I am using a valid swap? pn 6842882 or could it be the ECU if I need a different ECU anybody have a good used one they want to trade for a good Bendix unit? complent pn is Bendix S101590202A Volvo 6842882 Thanks Karl
