Following up on an earlier thread - I ended up going with K&N filters. An easy install with the exception that you have to make a spacer for the front filter. K&N thoughtfully designed the filters with a pair of bolts protruding from the underside in such a way that they don't clear the air intake. Otherwise, the engine seems to be happy, and is possibly getting slightly better mpg.
