240 Tranny: Odd Leak 200

I have a 87 240 wagon auto with 220k miles on it. The tranny leaked and I replaced the pan seal and that fixed most of the problem. I am asking advice on the rest of the problem.

My trustworthy mechanic said that the rest of the leak is coming from the cooling lines. Based off of information here, I know that this is reasonable. But here is what is weird: when I run the car for 30 minutes or more, the tranny does not leak at all for 2 weeks or more. If it sits for more than 2 weeks, it starts to leak about 1/2 an ounce every few days. Then, if I drive the car for 30 minutes or more, the leak stops for 2 weeks.

I know this may sound odd, but it really is happening. What's up?
